- Marsho Radio:  Akhmed Zakaev, who is Premier Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, knows much more about "Wahab" people in Chechnya. Long time ago, he has been working with some of them. Today, on 22 November, Mr. Zakaev agreed to share his opinion on what he thinks about it. Talking to us through the phone from London, he said ...

  - Akhmed Zakaev: About 15 years this topic doesn't calm down in the region. And to give you a very specific and deep meaning of it with accordance to Islam is hard, because I don't have an absolute understanding of Islam. To tell you how it begin and how it was driven, I was working in these times, as a politician and as a warier. 

At the beginning of USSR collapse, KGB was specifically interested in creating a new radical movement in Caucasia, in Astrahan', in 1988. There, by KGB, was created a new party called "Recreation of Islam in USSR". It was at the same time when "Liberal Democratic Party" of Jirinovsky was founded. Saharov took out the main part of USSR constitution where only one Communist Party was allowed and gave enough rights for LDPR and Islamic Party to raise up. So, since these times, the fundament of nowadays' movements were already rethinked. To Chechnya, I remember, they sent Deniev Adam who supposed to represent this ideology of new Islamic Party. Isa Umarov was the leader of this party too only as informal part of it. Gantemirov was working hard to prove that he was a part of it. Then, when Gantimorov moved away with his guards, Adam Deniev was the only one left and then, as we found out, the real leader of the Party appointed by KGB. Finally, Deniev Adam killed one civilian and tried to prove that he will bring him back to life. When he wasn't able to do so, Isa Umarov took his place. 

  - Marsho Radio: Talking more about "Wahabists", Premier Akhmed Zakaev said ...

  - Akhmed Zakaev: And if we are talking about the times after first war, there was one named Fat, from America, who fought in Afghanistan and was seen as religious. He, gathered all groups and announced: "We, cannot call each other by the name of 'Wahab', and we cannot accept this name at all! Why? Because Koran talks about them and we cannot accept it in our society." Kadyrov Ahmed (father of Ramzan Kadyrov) wanted to appose on what American said. He came from Saudi Arabia, because then people will listen to him. He came to the Ministry of Deffence and announced: "Today, we have 'Wahab' movement going on in Chechnya! We have to fight with them! We have to kill them! And if you kill them, you will be in paradise! And only then we can have the Government!" 

At that time, Aslam Maskhadov and many other government workers stood against! And I went to Ahmad Kadyrov and talked to him. I said: "Listen! Where you came from? (I knew that obviously)" Kadyrov said: "I came from Saudi-Arabia". Then I stated: "Alright! If you came from there, have you seen anywhere in Saudi-Arabia where people, because they were called 'Wahabs', were in prisons and other groups were praying on top of them?" I also mentioned: "The movement of 'Wahabism' came from Saudi-Arabia, so, have you seen it so radical there?" Kadyrov said: "No! I haven't seen that they were in prisons in Saudi-Arabia". Then I told him: "Then why don't you understand that?! Radical groups that we have today in Chechnya are based on Russian KGB plan and they are nothing else but bandits! We want to create a government based on Islam, and if you want us to kill each other in the name of Allah, then I'm sorry, Islam doesn't allow us to do so! And war we have hold with are external special forces, not our own people!" 

Since then, the program of killing each other is working. With the so-called "government" that Russia supports in Chechnya, the same ideology, where we have to kill each other to be in paradise, is working under Ahmad Kadyrov's son regime. And war that Russia is doing in Chechnya isn't against bandits or 'Wahab' people. - it is against our own Nation! So that the nation wont have their days tomorrow. That's why, I will not be able to speak from the name of Islam and become a specialist to explain everything and all branches of Islam in accordance to that. But we have our specialists and Imams who are trying to find a proper answer in this war. What they all say is: "No matter whether the war is against Radicals or against some 'wrong' religious groups, - the war that is going on in Chechnya is against Freedom and Liberty of the Chechen nation!"

But, on top of all of that, the first step of those who are dying for Freedom, who are going to fight for Freedom and who are fighting with the name of Allah to make his name on top of all, is to achieve Chechen Government, Chechen Nation and Chechen Republic by kicking occupation Russian forces out of these lands. And this conflict will not be solved but as politically.
